More about Adventure Boot Camp Houghton

Adventure Boot Camp Houghton was started in August 2010. Initially when Michelle Rozowsky applied to Adventure Boot Camp to become a franchisee, there were no more franchises available in central JHB. A franchise already existed in Bedfordview, Emmarentia and Sandton, and head office were not looking at making any other areas available as the camps need to all be at least 10km away from each other. However, when Michelle applied to head office at the end of 2009, she proposed that a new franchise become available in Houghton because she saw a huge market gap that needed to be filled. Within a week, they came back to her and said that she was in fact correct and the opportunity became available to her. Adventure Boot Camp was born on the 9th August 2010, when Michelle started her first boot camp class with 27 ladies. Michelle had done quite a bit of marketing leading up to this and through word of mouth she got a lucky break. It was also going into spring so everyone wanted to get ‘bikini ready’. Michelle continued with just the one class the next month again and then in October, introduced an afternoon and evening class as well. Adventure Boot Camp is a four week outdoor exercise programme for women. It now operates from Orchards Primary School offering classes at three different timeslots: 05h45; 16.30pm, 17.45pm. Classes run from Monday to Friday for an hour a day and campers can choose to sign up for a 3 day/week or 5 day/week camp. Types of exercise you can expect to experience include core conditioning, short distance running, weight training, circuit training, sports drills, mat work, games, surprises and team support.
